As well as our regular offering of real ales, the Prince of Wales also offers genuine trappist ales, & other imported beers from around the world:
On Draught:
- Kirin Ichiban 5% : Legendary Japanese lager, brewed using the Ichiban Shibori process. The finest ingredients are pressed once to create a sweet, flavoursome liquid, the remains are discarded, then the process begins again. Kirin Ichiban is a smooth, crisp & refreshing ultra-premium lager. Perfect with food.
- Schneider Weisse (Weizenhell) 5.2% : Bavaria's oldest brewer of wheat beer produce Weizenhell - a golden, fruity wheat beer that is wonderfully refreshing - perfect for the hot summer months.
- Lindeboom Pilsener 5% : Smooth, crisp, clean lager from the Limburg brewery in Holland.
- Timmermans Strawberry beer 4%: A refreshing, lambic strawberry beer from the John Martin brewery group in Belgium.
- Kostritzer schwarzbier 4.8%: A german black lager, it has an opaque, black colour & a full chocolate coffee flavour.
In Bottles:
- Brugse Zot 6% : Golden coloured, sweetish belgian beer. Named after the people of Brugse, the "lunatics", hence the fool on the label of the bottle.
- Pauwel Kwak 8.4% : Famous for it's distinctive glass, Kwak is a superb belgian ale. Rich, malty, with a hint of liquorice, banana, & toffee.
- Timmermans Kriek, Framboise, & Fruits of the Forest 4% : Three lambic fruit beers from the Timmermans brewery in Belgium. Lambic beer is made by leaving the wort exposed to the wild yeasts in the atmosphere of the Pajottenland region of Belgium.
- Orval 6.2% : Pale, dry-hopped trappist beer brewed at the monastery in Orval. Golden amber in colour, with a refreshing, dry, bitter taste. A world classic.
- Anchor Steam Beer 4.8% : Transported from San Francisco, this fine malty beer shows that American brewing doesn't start & finish with B*dweiser...
- Schlenkerla Smokebeer 5.1% : Fancy trying something a little bit different? Try Schlenkerla, a smokebeer from Bamberg, Germany. Made using smoked malts, this dark beer is easier to drink than you'd imagine.
- Rochefort 10 11.3% : Superb barley-wine style trappist beer. Dark, warming, & smooth, with a hint of liquorice, this beer is best sipped & savoured.
- DeuS 11.5% : Pale golden-coloured sparkling beer brewed using champagne yeast. Presented in a corked 750ml champagne bottle, & served in fluted glasses. A remarkable, delicate beer.
- Flensburger Pilsener 4.8% : A crisp, dry, hoppy pilsener from the world's biggest user of flip-top bottles. Light, & easy to drink.
- Samichlaus 14% : The world's strongest lager beer. Brewed once every year on 6th December, then fermented & matured prior to bottling the following October. This Austrian beer from the Eggenberg brewery is one of the rarest in the world.
